Green Beans!

It's our first time eating green beans!!! Izzy has done pretty well!! Day 2 went much more smoothly than day 1! She's a trooper!! Tomorrow she gets it again and then we'll try a new veggie!! I hope she likes whatever I decide to pick out too! It's so fun watching the faces she makes...it's also fun giving her a bath each night because she gets so messy! :o)

NYC Or Bust

Yesterday we finally took our first venture down to NYC! Ryan went to take a test to see if you could get on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire! So Mom, Iz and I spent the day riding with him to see some of his customers and then ended the day in NYC. If your asking why does it say NYC Or Bust....it's because the trip was a bust! It was fun, but it was pouring rain ALL day and even harder when we got into the City.

You couldn't even see the sky line! I was sad. We left with no pictures! haha, Isabelle, however, had fun! She was strapped to Ryan and was SO chatty! We stood in line with him until he went into the ABC building to take his test, then walked to the Barnes and Nobel on Broadway and 66th. His test was only 30 questions and he had only 30 minutes to complete it! Needless to say, he didn't pass. So it was another bust, but that's ok because it was still fun to try!!
We finally made it home by about ten last night and Isabelle decided she was going to get up every 2 hours during the night!! NOT COOL! I'm ONE tired chick today!!! That's ok though, she's still cute as ever and we're having a PJ day!! :o) Till next time!!

Sleep Training

Yesterday we started sleep training Izzy to sleep with out her swaddle. So far, we just doing it at nap time and then I hope to slowly work up to night time too. She's very dependent on it and won't sleep if her arms are out. Her startle reflex is still very strong and the tiniest movement makes her arms move and-boom-she's back awake.

I know we're NOT supposed to put them on their bellies to sleep but I finally did because the back was failing. Once I got her into position she slept for over an hour straight and today again so far we're doing good!!! I read a lot of different advice people put online and decided that's what I wanted to do and either way, she can roll over to her belly so if she ended up there I can't help that! Today when I put her in her crib, her face was totally sideways and her arm was only resting on her bunny blanket, and then I found her like this:


We also bought her a little pool today too!!! Thanks grammy!!

ALSO: today she is 5 months old!!!

play time and shopping

Today was a big first for Isabelle! We went to the grocery store and she sat in the cart all alone outside of her car seat! To me, I suppose, that was a big deal because it means she is growing so fast!!! She'll be 5 months old on Monday!!!

She has also been having lots of play time with daddy and loving it!!!

Tonight we had another movie night with our neighbor and had lots of chocolate treats and some drinks, and although Iz only took 1 hour long nap today she was in a really happy mood all day long and that made me happy!!!


Storms are on the forecast for tomorrow so hopefully we'll get to see some good storms!!!! Hope you all have an awesome end to a good weekend!!!

Friendly Friday

Well it's Friday and the close of another week. Ryan was able to work from home a lot this week, so Isabelle got a lot of daddy time in, and it was pretty fun! She just LOVES him to death!! She keeps getting cranky when she's on her tummy because she still hasn't figured out how to roll back over or scoot herself. Its cute, but kinda makes me feel bad too!

It's been VERY hot here, and so we've been inside most of the week with the A/C on to stay cool. They're painting the pool this week so hopefully once that opens up we can spend a lot of time there to stay cool too!! Ryan bought squirt guns last night to play with and pick on the neighbor boys with! They LOVED it! It was pretty entertaining watching them last night!

Tonight we're getting groceries and just hanging out all weekend again! It's supposed to rain the majority, it looks like, so who knows what we'll be up to!!! Have a good one!!!

What's That You Say

Well the long weekend has ended...and it was fun. We didn't do much, except be together as a family and that was fun!! Yesterday we noticed that Izzy for sure has a tooth very slowly working its way in on her top front! It's strange because it's normally the bottom that come first, but we really do think (at this point in time anyways) that this will be her first one. So because of that, the poor thing has been really moody and crying a lot! Today was a much better day though, so for that I'm glad!

Iz has been blowing TONS of razberries the past few days and it's so funny! She could go on with them all day if she wanted too!!
It's been a rainy day and stormy! But nothing like what Iowa is getting. I REALLY miss the storms back home and it makes me home sick!! For now though, I'm calling it a night! I'm beat!!

A Long Weekend

It's been a long 4 day weekend for Ryan! He took off Friday and gets tomorrow as well, so it's been fun having him home!! Izzy is soo in love with her daddy!! Well, boys in general, she looves to flirt already! :-)

It was another warm day in Connecticut so we drove to the Mall and walked around to stay cool. Isabelle ended up with, yet another, cute outfit! I think tomorrow we're going to go up town and take pictures of her by the water fountain!!

She's starting to get REALLY good at sitting up and loves to smile for the camera now! She knows when her picture is being taken.

Well for now it's off to watch a movie!! Night!!!

4 month check up

Well today, Izzy had her 4 month well baby apt. with Dr. Binder. She is now 15 lbs 8 oz, and 24.5 inches long. She has grown an inch in two months and gained exactly 2 lbs as well. She's our growing little queen bee!! She took her two shots like a big girl, only crying when she got the initial shock, and after I picked her up...she stopped!! She has, however, not been very happy tonight. She's finally asleep, and I hope for the night!!

Since she's growing so fast, her nurse was totally shocked that she can sit by herself for a little while with no help-at all and that includes no pillows or anything!! She's just got some strong abs! haha Dr. Binder loves how she flirts with boys too! It's pretty cute!

We're not doing much for the weekend. Going to our neighbors little league baseball game tomorrow at the park and having a cook out with them tomorrow night as well, and as of right now that's about all we have planned!!

This is our newest trick that we love to do: eating any kind of pop bottle or water bottle!! She gets SOOO excited when she sees someone with one! I'm pretty sure she loves the cool cold feeling on her gums! haha!!

When it rains it poors??

I know we've all heard it, when it rains, it poors. Well this week-it's the story of our life!!! Our car has started to crap out and now it's to the point of not being able to really be driven now! Thank god my mom is here so Ryan can use her car to travel for work until we are able to get it fixed!! Its just been one of those past few weeks where is seems like when you just finally get to take two steps forward you're forced to take 12 back!! It put us a little over the top and now we're kind of in a rut. The worst part is being so far away from home and hand help to get it fixed!! I suppose with time something good will come of things!! We just keep trying to stay positive and happy and know that things will really work out in the end!!

It was SOOOO hot today and it's supposed to be again tomorrow. We stayed inside all day long until we had to go to the store, as our kitchen was pretty much empty. AND, the A/C in my mom's car is temp. broken too, haha, so it made for kind of a long trip!! Here, out east, to get to the good store we like it takes a while because nothing is just down the street here!! it May only be 5 miles away, but it ends up taking (depending on traffic) 20-30 minutes!! Anyways...we got our food and we had an awesome dinner and LOTS of entertainment from our baby girl!! She's quite the drama queen and loves to be the center of our attention and she will so let you now it if you're not giving it to her! lol

Relaxed and Lazy Sunday

Well today has been kind of all over the place for our little Drama Queen, who rules our lives! HA.

Izzy only woke up once last night and that was ok with me because I didn't have to feed her, my mom very nicely did it for me while I sat in the kitchen and pumped, so that helped me get back to bed faster. Then, Iz slept until 7:30 I think. Ryan got up with her. We made a deal this past week that he can sleep in on Saturdays if I can have Sunday's!! With the exception of Father's Day! So far-so good!!

Today we are pretty positive that Izzy has a tummy ache because she's been so upset and doesn't, and I mean doesn't want to be put down-what so ever. We had on serious freak out and the screaming was like when she got her shots!! eeekk....then she gave up and fell asleep!!

Ryan's been doing awesome with helping today though and playing with her. Oh my does this girl LOVE to flirt with boys! She LOVES her daddy, and she just talks and talks to him and flirts-it's SO funny!!!

For now, I'd like to have her in bed by now, but since she took another LONG nap, later, I don't think we'll have much luck....yet!!
